Drainage services in Dartford
We cover Dartford and the surrounding areas, from the town centre and Wilmington to Stone, Greenhithe and Swanscombe, working from our base in Orpington.

Dartford's mix of old and new property
Dartford has changed a great deal. The town centre around the High Street and Central Park has older buildings, with Victorian and Edwardian terraces nearby, and residential areas such as Wilmington include many established family homes. Towards the Thames and the Dartford Crossing, places such as Stone, Greenhithe and Ebbsfleet include large areas of newer homes, with Bluewater close by.
Newer estates are not free of drain problems. On recent developments, blockages tend to come from what goes down the drain: wet wipes, nappies and cooking fat, and sometimes building debris left in pipes during construction. In older parts of town, clay pipes with joints that have shifted or cracked, and shared runs behind terraces, are more typical concerns.
Dartford drainage work
When water is backing up into a property, emergency drain unblocking is about getting the line moving and finding out why it stopped. For homeowners planning alterations, we can discuss new drainage installation, which usually needs Building Regulations approval; ask your local authority building control.
Businesses on industrial and retail sites sometimes need commercial drainage support, and larger volumes of liquid or chamber emptying may call for tanker services. Overflowing gutters can also send water where it is not wanted, so gutter clearing is worth considering if downpipes and gullies are struggling in heavy rain.
Arriving at a Dartford property
On a newer estate, chambers are usually easy to find but may be shared with other homes on the same run, so we check which one is holding water and whether it serves only your house. In older streets we may need to look in rear gardens or alleyways. Either way, we explain what we are checking as we go.
The method depends on the cause. A wipe blockage may clear with rods, heavier build-up may suit jetting where jetting is suitable, and repeated problems are a reason to look with a camera. After clearing we run water to confirm the flow and explain whether the issue looks like a one-off or something that may come back.
Coverage around Dartford
As well as Dartford, we cover Bexleyheath, Bromley and Orpington, plus Maidstone further into Kent. Sevenoaks and Tonbridge are in our area too.
How to contact us
Call, WhatsApp or email with your postcode and what is happening. If you live on a newer development, mention the estate name and whether neighbours have had similar trouble, since a shared run may be involved.

Questions from Dartford
My house is fairly new. Why is the drain blocking?
New pipes can still block. The usual causes are wipes, nappies, sanitary items and cooking fat. On some recent builds, construction debris or a poorly laid section can also play a part. If blockages keep returning, a CCTV survey can show whether the cause is what is being flushed or the pipe itself.
The chamber on our estate serves several houses. Who clears it?
In England, shared private sewers generally transferred to the water companies in October 2011, so a blockage in a shared section may be theirs to deal with. On some newer estates the drains may not yet have been adopted, which can complicate things. We can help identify where the blockage sits.
What should I do while waiting for a visit if water is backing up?
Stop using the affected toilets, sinks and appliances, and ask others in the house to do the same. Keep children and pets away from any overflow. Avoid lifting heavy covers yourself if you are unsure, and do not mix chemical cleaners. Tell us if dirty water has reached inside the property.
