When a CCTV drain survey makes sense

How a drain camera inspection works
A small waterproof CCTV camera is pushed along the pipe on a flexible cable, usually from a manhole, inspection chamber or rodding point. It shows the inside of the pipe on a screen as it travels, so cracks, displaced or open joints, root entry, scale, fat build-up and collapsed sections can often be seen.
A camera can only show what it can reach. If the pipe is blocked or heavily fouled, it may need clearing or jetting first so the camera can get through. Tight bends, very small pipes and runs with no access point can limit how far an inspection goes.
What happens during the survey visit

Do I need a survey if my drain has just been unblocked?
